Hi, I’m Tori – taken from my full name Victoria (only ever used by my mum when I was in trouble!). I grew up in Sussex, joined the Royal Navy after studying French in Aberystwyth (yes French in Wales!). It was at university where my faith had a chance to flourish and I became committed to following Jesus.
After my time in the Navy where I fell in love with my husband, I also fell in love with the South West and we settled in Plymouth. I trained as a secondary teacher, before then beginning to work with my local church as the Children and Families’ Worker and later the Youth and Families Worker, alongside some Primary teaching. I also was able to rejoin my childhood passion of Girl Guiding. I now lead a team running a Rainbow Unit of girls from 4-7 years old – full on and incredible fun!
My role now as FLOURISH Lead, working in collaboration with St Pancras church, is such a privilege as I get to share my love of Jesus in a secondary setting. As I get to know the young people and the local community, our desire is that we can encourage them to explore and develop their faith in the way they decide. We want to help them lead initiatives, and a new worshipping community at All Saints Academy.
I have 2 teenagers in the house, a wonderfully supportive husband and a gorgeous little dog. We love to watch our son play rugby and recently my daughter and I have started enjoying the Plymouth Park Run. Saturday night in our house is always pizza night and we are notoriously bad at any type of gardening!
