Mariska Minter - Families and Outreach Minister

Mariska Minter - Families & Outreach Worker

I am a Licensed Lay Minister at St Pancras church and work as the Families & Outreach Minister.  This covers two main roles.  Within church I oversee the children’s group on a Sunday morning, called Energize (currently with children aged from 3 to 12) and the creche for babies.  During the week I also visit local primary and secondary schools (for RE lessons, clubs, groups, and assemblies), help at our food larder and café, help lead our monthly “Feast of Fun” community family event, run parenting and mental health and wellbeing courses, and coordinate food hamper collections for local families in need.  I also lead and preach within our church services.

I spent my early years living in the Far and Middle East and have now lived in Plymouth since I was a teenager – apart from 3 years at university where I studied History.  Before joining St Pancras I have worked as a teacher and have run my own business.  I have two grown-up daughters.  My favourite place in the world is the beach on a sunny day or my garden, and my favourite activities are coffee, cake and a natter with a friend or walking my dog Pepper.
