Welcome to St Pancras, Pennycross

We are a lively, friendly, family church in Pennycross, Plymouth.  As a church, we have a heart for loving God, loving Church and loving our community. We want to be people shaped by Christian faith, sharing God’s hope and love with those around us.

A warm welcome awaits everyone, from any age and background, to our Sunday services.

Our main Sunday service is Morning Praise at 10.30am, where the whole church family can come together to worship God, encourage one another and hear from God's Word. The service includes contemporary praise and engaging Bible teaching.  The children and young people sit with their family for the beginning of the service and then leave for Energize group activities in the hall.

On the first Sunday of the month we have our All Age Celebration, again at 10.30am.  This is a family friendly service containing craft and interactive activities as well as contemporary songs and an all age talk.

On the first and third Sunday of each month we have a Book of Common Prayer service at 9am.

We also have a family Walking Church in the churchyard on the first Sunday of each month and there are a wide range of activities throughout the week.  These include wellbeing groups, tea and coffee mornings, opportunities to explore the Christian faith as well as various groups for parents, carers and toddlers.  Our Knitting Group is taking new members and we also have our Route 3:16 Chaucer Way Community Bus in service every Friday from 10am to 1.00pm in Congreve Gardens, near the shops.

Details of all our activities are detailed throughout the website and you can also follow regular updates on Facebook.  If you’d like to find out more or get involved, we’d love to hear from you; you can get in touch via Facebook, or on our Contact Us page.

This church has been a place of prayer and rest for people of all ages for more than 500 years and details of its history can be found here: St Pancras Church

Almost all the work we do is funded by voluntary donations, either regular giving or one-off gifts and many people also give generously of their time too. Nevertheless, there is always more we could, or often need, to do to support our local community and beyond. We host many free or low-cost activities in our church buildings, including Community Larder, support groups, baby and toddler mornings and Route 3-16 Chaucer Way Community Bus - to name but a few.

Come along and join in the fun at our free Feast of Fun events in August.  This year’s theme is ‘Summer of Love – Loving God, Loving Others, Loving Ourselves’.  Our first session is on Wednesday 3rd August from 9am to 1pm and then every Wednesday in August from 9.30am-12 noon.  Our last session, on the 31st August, will be a BIG CELEBRATION involving the Fit & Fed Plymouth team.  We have so many fun activities planned for all the family and lunch is also included.  These are free events organised and supported by our brilliant community volunteers, Plymouth Argyle, Transforming Plymouth Together and Fit & Fed Plymouth. In addition, our weekly Community Larder 🥦🥕🍎 and TLC Café (☕️ with lots 🍰) will also be in full swing during our Feast of Fun mornings.
